My problem with DAM is that I seldom download images more than once or maybe twice a year, max. Then I can transfer the images to the primary computer for PP. However, I find I can do the download on my other iMac and the card behaves as it should. It took me a few tries to get it right, and in the process, when I activate "download" on Bridge, now the card repeats my previous attempts as well as what is originally on the card, which is frustrating.
that's pretty much the opinion I've gotten from several different sources. I would be inclined to use your computer's native file management system to transfer images, more than any add-on software. Microsoft Silverlight seems more bloatware than anything else.Ĭanon's ImageBrowser also seems quite outdated, compared to other DAM software programs, including Canon's own Digital Photography Professional 4, which is pretty handy at DAM. Just my two cents which probably will not answer your question: Any comments ? Am I missing someway to keep the card "active" without having to sort through a miriad of images to find where I left off ? But I am very frustrated with the fact that when I download in Bridge, after transferring a group of images to folders on my desktop, Bridge restarts the card loading process, and i have to locate where I left off, which is time-consuming and frustratingly slow. I know there are other download programs, and I've been working with PSCS6 Bridge download, which is very similar to the process in Image Browser.
I have read in several places that Silverlight is not a safe download, and not to install it.
Now, after updating my 8 year old iMac to El Capitan, when I click on IB, it opens to 80% and I get a message that I must download and verify "Silverlight" before IB can be opened. I have used Canon Image Browser for several years for quick and easy transfer of images from memory card to relabeled desktop folders on my iMac, and then PP in PSCS6.
